One Fine Monday in Kota Lama Semarang

2:50 AM

Now tell me, who hates Monday? lol
Yep, people mostly hate Monday since it's the first day of the week to begin their activities, but not for me *smirk* *smirk* , since I'm still on my semester break let's just spend this fine Monday with my most dear senior high friends Andrena & Oxa strolling the city where my life began, Semarang!

We decided to take a visit to Kota Lama (Old City in English) which is located in east side of Semarang. To be honest, this is my very first time, since I was born, to be hanging out in Kota Lama (I know, shame on me). It is actually one of the "must see" place when you come to Semarang. You will find many foreign or local tourist strolling around in this area bringing their backpack, taking photos (of course), and taking selfies (oh yes, why not).

About Kota Lama
People here called Kota Lama as Little Netherlands because this location is some kinda separated from its nearby area (like a lil city in a big town) and the architecture of buildings here was designed and influenced by European style (more towards Netherlands I guess). One of the most famous building amongst all is the Church and people called it Gereja Blenduk (Gereja means Church, and Blenduk means Dome).

So, what's so special about Kota Lama?
Well for me, this place is actually full of heritage from Europeans and it's definitely a perfect place to take photos. And fyi, since it's becoming more popular, there are many cafes and western restaurants built to please your watery-mouth or just chill with your fellas.

Conclusion?
Either by day or night, this place has its own attraction. And don't worry about accommodations, there's a lot of cheap motels (and some star hotels too). You even might wanna try take a ride with pedicab too, it's so damn fun!

At last, this is my free and most useful tips to enjoy this place by days better: please! yes, please bring a hat or even an umbrella 'cause Semarang is really freakin awesome hot yo!

Have a fine Monday ;]
